Yangkou Port Railway Track laying is coming to an end and is expected to open to traffic in October

　　On June 24,the main project of Rudong railway station of the ocean Railway(from Haian to Yangkou Port in Jiangsu Province)was capped,and the track laying operation of the whole line came to an end,marking that the railway construction of Yangkou Port has entered the final sprint stage.It is expected that the whole line will be opened to traffic in October,and Yangkou Port will be fully integrated into the railway intermodal network to realize the intermodal railway transportation.

　　Large seaports need a collection and distribution system including water,land,sea,rail and air transportation.The total length of the ocean railway is 77 km,which will go directly to the port industrial zone of Yangkou Port.The designed annual transportation capacity is 6.75 million tons,and the long-term transportation capacity is 8.8 million tons.The project started on October 18,2008.At present,the investment of 1.27 billion yuan has been completed,the main project has been basically completed,and the ancillary works have also been basically completed.

　　Ocean railway is an important railway connecting East China railway network with coastal ports in central and southern Jiangsu Province.Its construction will vigorously promote the economic development of Jiangsu coastal area and the north wing of Yangtze River Delta,and is of great significance to promote sea rail combined transport and optimize port industrial layout.
