Zhoushan archipelago new area has become the fourth national new area in China

　　Zhoushan,the only prefecture level city in China established by archipelago,was only famous for having Putuo Mountain and Zhoushan fishing ground.Yesterday,Zhejiang governor Lv Zushan announced in Beijing that the State Council has approved the establishment of Zhejiang Zhoushan archipelago new area,which will become another national new area after Pudong in Shanghai,Binhai of Tianjin and Chongqing,and the first national new area with marine economy as its theme.Zhoushan Archipelago,this long-standing boudoir of the"Pearl of the East China Sea"immediately sent out dazzling light.

　　Zhou Guohui told reporters that Zhoushan archipelago has now built a national oil strategic reserve base,the largest commercial crude oil storage and transportation base,and the largest coal transfer base in Zhejiang Province.Last year,Zhoushan port area completed 45 million tons of oil products,75 million tons of mineral sand,21.15 million tons of coal and 5.39 million tons of grain.At the same time,the oil storage capacity of Zhoushan has reached 11.5 million cubic meters,and the transit throughput capacity is close to 66 million tons.It is estimated that the new storage capacity will be 19 million cubic meters and the throughput capacity will reach 120 million tons in the 12th Five Year Plan period,making Zhoushan the port area with the largest oil storage and transfer handling capacity in China.The annual throughput capacity of metal ores will also increase to 140 million tons based on the current 75 million tons.

　　At present,Zhoushan has begun to make overall planning for many islands in Zhoushan sea area that meet the storage and transportation conditions.A number of large-scale storage and transportation bases for oil,ore,grain and oil,liquefied natural gas and other strategic materials have been built to provide storage,transportation and trading capabilities.Zhou Guohui said that in 10 years'time,Zhoushan's storage and transportation capacity of resource products will reach 400-450 million tons,and Zhoushan will be built into six major bases for the transit trade and processing of oil products,iron ore,coal,chemicals,grain and containers,so as to provide support for solving the national energy security.
